How do you keep the energizer bunny down?

Trevor hasn't even been home for 24 hours and already he is bouncing off the walls. We were told to have him take it easy for the next few days. We try to explain it to him so we don't scare him too much. He ends up crying, then I end up crying. This is going to be a very long month. I think he got maxed out on movies watching 8 of them in the hospital! He doesn't want to color, do artwork, watch tv or movies. All he wants to do is go outside and play and run around. I wish this part of recovery were still in the hospital. Then I wouldn't worry as much. Trevor is normally a very active kid. This is going to be tough on all of us. Any ideas on how to keep him down will be appreciated!

hodorboTry telling him he has a ouwee on the inside of him that will hurt if he runs around to much. Then he would be in bed again and you know he wouldn't like that. so he needs to listen to you when you tell him not to run and play to hard. You could use stickers for listening he can have a prize. After 3or4 stickers before a prise to start with. If it takes to long he will stop listening. Good stuff at $ Tree at safeway. Rewards are wounderfull and helps them to remember. It seems just like yesterday when he was born. What a hamsom boy he is. God bless you. Ron and I will keep praying for you all. Maybe Trevor can make his own movies. Tell him he has to hold the camera very still to get the picture just right. (Daddy has some experience in this.) Trevor can make lots of little movies about his operation, his sisters, his parents, his kitties, his toys, but he has to walk very slowly with the camera. Then Daddy can help edit them. Glad to hear that he is anxious to romp around and play - challenging yes but a great indicator of a very successful procedure! Thinking of all of you...Karen J.
